Registration: Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Registration Process for Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade

New to LASD? Follow these three simple steps to register your child for the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited to welcome your family!

A three-step diagram outlining the registration process: 1. Complete registration form, 2. Gather documents, 3. Upload documents.

Step 1: Complete the registration form

Complete one registration form for each child you are enrolling for the 2026-27 school year.

Step 2. Gather REQUIRED documents

Prepare the following documents before uploading them in Step 3.

  • One of the following is required:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Passport
  • Students who currently live within the Los Altos School District residency boundaries are eligible to attend our schools. Parent/Guardian will need to present three current proofs of residency - One from Category A and two from Category B

Category A - One (1) Required containing both the parent's name and address:

    • Most recent property tax bill. If no property tax bill is available because the purchase is recent, the final closing statement or grant deed is acceptable
    • Current lease agreement showing parent/guardian as the renter

    Category B - Two (2) Required

    • Current utility bill or a letter/email of utility account confirmation (at primary address and in the name of the parent/guardian)
    • DMV vehicle registration
    • Home or renter’s insurance
    • Voter registration
    • U.S. Mail address change verification

  • Please review immunization requirements to ensure your child's immunization record is up to date.

    • The CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 6 months and older and boosters for everyone 5 years and older. The COVID-19 vaccine is not required for school entry, although it is highly recommended.
  • A Tuberculosis Risk Assessment Form (or TB test if required after assessment) must be completed by a health professional in the U.S. for the following:

    • New students (including TK/K)
    • Returning students who have left Santa Clara County for 12 months or more, TB Risk Assessment Form must be filled out and signed by a medical provider in the USA within 12 months of school registration
    • Please note: TK-8 students transferring from another TK-8 Santa Clara County school are exempt from this requirement

If your child requires a TB Risk Assessment form, based on the criteria listed above, it will be required at the time of registration.

If you have any questions regarding the immunization requirements, please email Health Records.
