Overview

The Information Technology Department of the Los Altos School District is responsible for maintaining reliable network services, equipment, and software to enable teachers, students and administrators to be productive and successful in their educational endeavors.

Network

Each school has a fiber backbone and is connected to the District Office with a point to point fiber link. The District Office connects to the Santa Clara County Office of Education for its ISP services.  Wireless access is provided on all campuses. This access allows more extensive use of devices such as laptops, Chromebooks and iPads by students and teachers in their learning experience.

District Technology Plan

The goal of technology planning is to provide technology resources to support District curriculum standards. Technology is used to assist students in meeting their grade level standards and to prepare them for the next phase of their education.  Los Altos School District has made great strides in the integration of digital resources in the instructional program.

Student Technology Use Agreement

Parents and students are required to read and sign the Acceptable Use Agreement (AUP) each year to indicate that they agree to use the technology provided by the Los Altos School District in a responsible manner as outlined in the agreement.  You can download the AUP here.
