Title:
Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
Allison White

Education is in my blood! My great-grandfather was the Superintendent of Schools in a township in Indiana, where I was born. I grew up in Fremont, attended high school where my dad taught English and even had him as a teacher! I have a BA in Social Sciences and an MS in Educational Leadership. During my career in education, I have worked in a variety of roles: classroom teacher, teacher on special assignment/literacy coach, new teacher coach, and school principal (5 years). I’ve also worked as a teacher trainer in early literacy and presented at education conferences. No matter what role, I am driven by a mission to support students, families and fellow educators. As the mom of two young adults who attended Mountain View schools and graduated from Mountain View High School, I’ve seen up close the challenges we are preparing our students for in elementary school and beyond. My greatest thrill as an educator comes from interactions with students, parents, and colleagues where we create solutions and share “Aha!” moments that build the confidence and intrinsic motivation of our students. My husband, Michael, and I are proud parents of daughters Emily, 22, just graduated from American University in Washington, DC, and Peyton, 20, a junior at UC Berkeley. Our dog, Archie, sometimes makes his way into class Google Meets, so keep an eye out for him! When I’m not focused on teaching and learning, I recharge through cycling, hiking, camping, and reading. If you came out for the Springer Car Parades last spring, you may have seen me as the Springer Bee on a bike!
