The first grade classroom is a truly magical place full of learning and growth. Each year, I get to observe my students explore their mathematical thinking, develop a love of reading and writing, become independent learners, and have so much fun doing it. After graduating and earning my credentials from San Diego State University, I embarked on my first teaching internships and travelled to different classrooms around the world. There, I found my passion and joy in teaching, creating engaging lessons, and encouraging a lifetime love of learning in my students. I believe the best part of being a teacher is the special bonds built with the incredible, entertaining, and intelligent little humans in our class. This will be my 5th year of teaching first grade at Oak Elementary and I have been a teacher for nearly 12 years in the Bay Area. In my free time, I love to be with my family, ride bikes, picnic, hike, travel to new places, enjoy live music, and run around after my very active toddler, Oliver.
