I started developing a natural affinity towards children as I stepped into adulthood myself. That connection continued unabated over the years, driving me naturally towards teaching, whereby I could align my profession with my passion! The natural innocence, out-of-the box wacky ideas, creative thinking, sense of humor, and most importantly, the often overlooked sensibilities of young minds intrigue me. My camaraderie with exceptional children has been a natural extension of this life-long interest, fueled by my desire to take on new challenges and make a difference in individual lives. I consider myself fortunate to be engaged in a profession where I get the opportunity to create lesson plans customized for every child, stimulate my young audience and make learning a fun, empowering and invigorating experience. I have devoted fifteen years of my career doing just that in Los Altos School District and am thankful for that. Every challenge I encounter while teaching children with a wide range of special needs is something I embrace with eagerness and a twinkle in my eye! To me, it is like diving deep into the complexities of a human mind, searching for cues and signals, then collectively inching towards an optimal outcome! On the personal front, me and my husband are blessed with two kids, eleven and three years of age, who have enriched our lives beyond measure and opened up new dimensions for us. I have a passion for dance, cooking, watching movies from the Victorian era, following investigative journalism, listening to Bollywood music as well as soft rock and socializing with family and friends. I have a Masters in History and received Special Education Credentials from San Diego State and San Jose State University.
