I’ve been teaching math at Blach since 1991. I started my teaching career in a suburb of Chicago (my home town) and when the weather got to be too much for us, my husband took a job with Intel we were off to California! I’ve taught at both the high school level and junior high level and I much prefer the junior high level since I feel like I have a greater influence on students at that age. I also love the humor of 7th and 8th graders.
I’ve been a parent in the district, as well. My daughter attended Loyola and Blach. She is now finishing pharmacy school at USC.
When I’m not teaching I love to read, garden and travel locally. My favorite type of books are courtroom drama/crime thrillers by Michael Connelly or John Grisham, among others. My favorite spots for get-a-ways are Monterey and Pacific Grove. I love the old TV show Psych and students have fun trying to spot all the pineapples in my room based on that show.
