The Living Classroom Program is looking for volunteers to deliver garden-based lessons to K-6 classes in the Los Altos School District.
If you enjoy…
- Working with young learners
- Exploring nature
- Exercising your creative skills
Then you should consider becoming a Volunteer Docent in LASD’s Living Classrooms!
Training:
- Volunteer Docents attend scheduled training sessions to learn the curriculum and relevant lesson delivery techniques.
- New Docents gain experience by observing and assisting more experienced Docents in the classroom as they teach Living Classroom lessons.
Time Commitment:
In addition to training, docents lead or assist with at least two lessons per month and attend occasional general meetings.
Experience:
- No teaching experience necessary.
- No gardening skills required.
- No science background needed.
